50 YEARS OF GJEPC
GJEPC is the apex body of the gems and jewellery industry and today represents almost 6,000 exporters in the sector. It was one of several Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) launched by the Indian Government, to boost the country’s export thrust.
Established in 1966, GJEPC was celebrating 50 successful years. The council team had planned yearlong engagement activities internally and with the community including events, conferences, competitions.
An elegant identity was created to mark the 50-year milestone, one that would sit well with the existing GJEPC logo. 50 years being a very popularly celebrated event the world over, having the digits 50 in the identity was clichéd. Using a lateral approach with a bit of creative license we brought together the roman numeral for five V together with a zero. That the identity was also representative of a gem (diamond), made the identity unique to the council.
